On Management

From 2002 to 2004 I attended Karnataka state open University for a Masters in Science Program in IT. Some of Courses I took towards my Degree are Project Management Client Server Computing ECommerce Data Warehousing and Data Mining OOAD & UML Advanced Java Advanced Networks Software Quality and Testing Distributed Databases Component Technologies Cyber laws Application Servers etc etc

Three books which are of immense help to anybody venturing into the field of Marketing are a) In Search of Excellence by Peters & Waterman b) The 22 Immutable laws of Marketing by Ries and Trout c) Six Thinking Hats by Edward de Bono They make great readings!

I am listening to a series of lectures on management by Prof K B Akilesh of Indian Institute of Science ,Bangalore .This should whet my appetitie for Management education for a while.

I was listening to the leadership series interviews conducted by McKinsey . I listened to John Chambers CEO Cisco Systems and Jeroen Van Der Veer Ex-CEO Shell They had some interesting things to say about recession,managing the future etc

A Very interesting subject indeed! Organization and Management deals with organization behavior aspects of management. You have to read the works of McClelland,Taylor,Fayol,Maslow,Drucker ,Kaplan Norton,Mintzberg Industrial Psychology is a wide and engrossing topic and leads to development of Organizational leadership
